PURE TEAMS READY AT RIVER

The leading bunch of Pure Teams who have slept at Branches Camp overnight are all up and out of the TA this morning having walked down the 1km track to the side of the upper Shotover River in readiness for the 6.45am water start. The first teams Tiki Tour, Yealands and Swordfox  arrived at Branches Camp just on midnight having blitzed the 25km Bullendale trek in10 hours and 20minutes. The expected fast time by Race Director Warren Bates and course assist Ian Edmond was nine and half hours.

There are eight teams currently ready to inflate their canoes and be the first to paddle the upper reaches towards the abseil at the historic Skippers Canyon Bridge at first light on a first in, first served basis (no position line). These teams are Tiki Tour, Yealands Family Wines, Sneaky Weasels, Bivouac 8, Torpedo 7, , Swordfox, Mrs Forne Boys & Adventure Medical Kits.
