Stage Two mountain biking is the first chance teams have had to feel the wind in their hair and put the pedal to the metal. The ride takes teams to the Clifton Caves, a unique limestone network of underground caves that are home to the native New Zealand glowworm (Fun Fact: the glowworms were used by New Zealand soldiers in the First and Second World Wars to light up trenches etc). Then its through the mature Motu Forest that should not provide too many hiccups for good navigators but for those going through the night it might be a different story.
